What is a Giclee?
Simply put, a giclee is a fine art print created by using a specialized high resolution inkjet printer. A giclee an “art print” but giclee prints stand apart from normal art prints with their extremely high level of quality, longevity and value compared to a standard print. Pronounced “zhee-clay,” the word giclee is French for “to spray.” These are made to last, gallery-quality prints.
This literal interpretation of the word defines what the art of giclee printing is: reproducing art through a printer to exactly resemble an original piece. 
 
 
"The Primate"
After reorganizing my on-board art studio, I rediscovered an old box, with white chalk. This tin was carried with me everywhere in my younger days, it still is today and now it's a much loved, and very beat up Fishermans Friend Tin box. Upon finding it I suddenly got the urge to dive into drawing, and I in an excitedly mad state I created "The Primate". With a lump in my throat, I was excited, I knew I wanted to have a soft blend of the features of his muzzle. Along with knowing eyes, I wanted to make him feel a little unruly. With each tuft of hair having a slightly different personality "The Primate" was born.
 
"The Pirmate" is an original art piece done in charcoal, and white chalk on acid free, archival-quality, cold-pressed water colour paper. Sealed with Windsor and Newton Fixative.
